Our Story

Born in Detroit.
Made in Texas.

Two brothers, one dream, and an obsession with the perfect square slice — the story of Via 313.

Via 313 kitchen — authentic Detroit-style pizza being prepared
2011 Founded

The Via 313 Story

It started with a love for home. Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt grew up in Detroit — a city famous for its music, its resilience, and above all, its pizza. Detroit-style pizza: thick, airy dough baked in steel pans, edges caramelized into crispy lace, Wisconsin brick cheese all the way to the crust.

When they transplanted to Austin, Texas, they couldn't find anything close. So in 2011, they parked a trailer at the corner of South Lamar and started serving slices the way they remembered them. The line wrapped around the block on opening weekend and never really stopped.

Today, Via 313 has grown into multiple locations across the Austin metro area, including our Cedar Park flagship — but the recipe, the ethos, and the square pan remain exactly the same as that first night on South Lamar.

Our Mission

"To bring the authentic taste of Detroit-style pizza to every corner of Texas — one perfectly caramelized square slice at a time, made with integrity, heart, and Wisconsin brick cheese."

We believe great pizza is more than food — it's a moment of connection. Whether you're at our counter, sharing a tray with family, or ordering for your team, we're committed to making that moment memorable.

Made with Love

Every dough ball is hand-pressed, every pie assembled with care. No shortcuts, no compromises.

Quality Ingredients

We source the best Wisconsin brick cheese, fresh local toppings, and premium tomato sauce — period.

Community First

We grew up in Austin's neighborhoods. We give back, support local, and treat our neighbors like family.

Detroit Authentic

The square pan, the brick cheese edge, the airy crust — we don't reinvent it. We honor the original.

Our Core Values

Everything we do — from sourcing ingredients to training staff — is guided by these principles.

Uncompromising Quality

We use the same Wisconsin brick cheese and house-milled flour that we started with. If an ingredient isn't right, we don't use it — simple as that.

Honest Hospitality

We treat every guest like they're coming over for dinner. No pretense, no upselling — just warm service and food we're genuinely proud of.

Sustainable Sourcing

We partner with local Texas farms wherever possible, reducing our footprint and keeping money in the communities that support us every day.

Relentless Improvement

We've been perfecting our dough since 2011 and we're still not done. Every season, every tray, every slice is a chance to be even better than the last.

Rooted in Community

We sponsor local sports, donate to Austin food banks, and hire from within our neighborhoods. Via 313 belongs to Austin as much as it belongs to Detroit.

Joy in Every Bite

At the end of the day, we make pizza because it makes people happy. That joy — the first bite face — is what keeps us showing up every single day.

History & Milestones

From a single trailer to a beloved institution — thirteen years of square pizza, one milestone at a time.
